Adam Yates of the UAE Team Emirates-XRG won the Tour of Oman for the second consecutive year on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

Yates finished second in the final stage of the Tour of Oman at Jabal Al Akhdar (Green Mountain) after Valentin Paret-Peintre (Soudal-QuickStep) and Rodrigo Àlvarez finished third in the race.

Despite his second position in the final stage, Yates secured the Tour of Oman win, finishing six seconds ahead of Paret-Peintre and 39 seconds ahead of David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) who finished third.

The final stage was a 138.5km race including a gruesome six-kilometer ascent. The decisive moment came when two kilometers remained in the race and Yates and Paret-Peintre surged ahead of Gaudu.
