'All We Imagine as Light' Loses Award at Golden Globes 2025

Payal Kapadia's 'All We Imagine as Light' lost the Best Non-English Language Motion Picture award to 'Emilia Perez' at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 5.

In addition to these two films, the category featured 'I'm Still Here', 'The Girl With The Needle', 'The Seed of the Sacred Fig', and 'Vermiglio'.

Kapadia was also nominated for 'Best Director' at the Golden Globes, but Brady Corbet won the award for the brutalist.

Fans had high expectations from Kapadia's film after it won the Grand Prix award at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.

The film was also not submitted for the 2025 Oscars; instead, Kiran Rao's 'Laapata Ladies' was submitted.

However, when Rao's film was not shortlisted for the Oscars, filmmakers and fans criticized the Indian film board for not selecting Kapadia's film, which they believed had a better chance of being shortlisted for the prestigious awards.
