A strong earthquake of magnitude 5.8 was recorded off the Arabian Sea coast of Oman on Thursday morning, according to the UAE's National Center of Meteorology (NCM).
UAE's NCM reported that the earthquake's epicentre was 500 km away from the port city of Sur in Oman and at depth of 10 km below the seabed.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) approximated the earthquake to be at 5.4 magnitude in the Owen Fracture Zone region.
The Meteorology Department of the UAE recorded the earthquake at 7:24 a.m. off the Arabian Sea.
