Oman's Ministry of Health has launched a new system for residents to easily obtain their medical reports for renewal of residency cards.
The service is part of the 'Medical Fitness Examination System for Residency Purpose’. The system will allow residents to easily obtain medical reports to renew their residency, get their residency cards, or obtain visas for the first time from the service centres in civil affairs.
The Ministry launched this new system to increase transparency, reduce the production of counterfeit reports, and reduce time in producing reports through electronic linkage with the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
The beneficiaries of the system include entrepreneurs and individuals who want to recruit expat labourers; The Directorate General of Disease Surveillance and Control to follow up and obtain any necessary statistics; and private sector hospitals and medical centres that conduct medical examinations for expats.
The new system includes various services such as medical examinations for expats for residency renewal and allowing officials to follow up work procedures directly.
The system also provides medical examinations to obtain health cards, student visas, family entry visas, and Omani citizenships.
The system also provides medical examination services for technical teams and sailors (enrolment or renewal).
