A paraplegic, Kevin Piette, carried the Olympic torch using an exoskeleton that helped him walk during the torch relay. 

Piette was a tennis player, but got in an accident eleven years ago, which left him paralyzed. Despite his condition, Piette has continued to compete as a para-athlete in different sports over the years. 

Kevin Piette made history by becoming the first para-athlete to carry the Olympic torch. The moment has been making waves on social media, ahead of the Paris Olympics 2024. 

The Paris Olympics 2024 begins on Friday, Jul. 26.
