As the holy month of Ramadan has begun, it usually comes with new rules and laws to be taken note of. This year is no different. As Abu Dhabi Police is implementing a rule that bans heavy vehicles on Abu Dhabi roads during peak traffic hours in Ramadan.

This ban relates to trucks, heavy vehicles as well as worker buses with more than 50 passengers. This rule will be enforced between 8am and 10am on worker buses and trucks. It will apply to trucks and trailers only between 2pm and 4pm.

The Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate are also calling on motorists to comply with traffic regulations during the month of Ramadan. This is not only for heavy duty vehicles but applies to all motorists who are asked to abide with all rules including buckling up, driving within the speed limits and also avoiding phone use while driving.
