In a thrilling Saudi Pro League matchup on Thursday, Oct. 31, Al Ittihad and Al Ahli met at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, where Al Ittihad clinched a tight 1-0 victory.

The clash was marked by a tactical display from both sides, balancing high possession and pressing defense throughout the game. Al Ittihad had a slight edge in possession at 51% compared to Al Ahli’s 49%, and in attacking attempts as the former got 12 shots while the latter got 10 shots.

Only four of Al-Ittihad's shots were on target, while three of their opponent's shots were on target.

Al Ittihad’s disciplined approach paid off when they managed to break through Al Ahli’s defense with a decisive goal, keeping them competitive in the league standings.

Saleh Alshehri secured the first and only goal for Al-Ittihad in the 42nd minute of the match with assistance from Moussa Diaby.

Al Ahli's inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities underscored their struggles in this high-stakes encounter, particularly as they conceded more fouls, totaling 17 compared to Al Ittihad’s 14. The match also saw intense dueling on set pieces, with both teams winning six corners each, yet only Al Ittihad could turn their chances into points.

This victory further bolstered Al Ittihad’s position near the top of the league, just a few points shy of Al Hilal, while Al Ahli faced a setback as they continue to vie for a place among the league's upper ranks.
