All about Go Card from BPTC
Bahrain Public Transport Company (BPTC) provides a new public transport model to ensure offering the highest in safety and customer service standards - maximizing reach, connectivity, accessibility, and delivering an enhanced travel experience. BPTC created GO Card which is the simplest and cheapest way to use their buses. Find out more about it.
What is GO Card?
GO Cardholders can board BPTC buses much faster traveling across the bus network! With GO Card you can Check-In and pay using the ticket machines which will automatically charge the correct fare by tabbing the card on the machine.
Types of Go Card
Go-Cards come in two forms:
Anonymous

Can be purchased from the ticket offices in the main bus terminals “Ticket Vending Machines” or from the bus driver.

Can be used for pay-as-you-go (single trips and daily capping) & Weekly Pass only.
Personalized

Can be purchased only at the ticket offices in the main bus terminals during opening hours
-
Must be personalized with your photograph and details

Can be used for all trips option: pay-as-you-go (single trips and daily capping), the Weekly Pass, and the Monthly Pass.
Where to get GO Card?
- Ticket offices at Manama, Isa Town, and Muharraq.
- Ticket Vending Machines are located at Manama, Isa Town, and Muharraq Bus Terminals.
- Ticket Vending Machine at the University of Bahrain.

GO Card fees
When purchasing GO Card for the first time, there is an initial fee of 500Fils, and you can charge your GO Card with any amount of credit up to a maximum of BD 50, and you will be charged 250 Fils for each journey.
You can save money using DAILY CAP SERVICE for GO Cardholders who use more than two buses to complete their journey because traveling by GO Card costs a maximum of 600 Fils per day no matter how many times you switch buses.
Where to Recharge go card
You can recharge Bahrain buses card “GO Card” using the following options:
- Ticket vending machines at all main bus terminals using the
- Reloading machines on the buses
- STC Pay
- Manned ticket offices
Damaged GO Card
If you damaged your GO Card, you could issue a new one and transfer any outstanding credit from the old one to the new one. Note that if your card is visibly damaged, you may be charged 500 fils for a new card.
