Bahrain wrapped up its participation in the Paris 2024 Olympics with a significant achievement, claiming a total of four medals. The country brought home two golds, one silver, and one bronze, securing its place as the top-performing Arab nation and GCC member at the Olympic game.
Top Performers in Paris 2024
The standout athletes for Bahrain included Winfred Yavi, who took gold in the Women's 3,000m Steeplechase, and Ahmed Taj Eddin, who won gold in the 97kg wrestling category. Salwa Eid added to the medal tally with a silver in the Women's 400m, while Gor Minasyan earned a bronze in the over 201kg weightlifting event.
Bahrain's Global Ranking Surge
This success placed Bahrain 33rd overall among approximately 204 participating countries, a significant jump from its previous Olympic rankings. Bahrain was ranked 77th in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, 48th in Rio 2016, and 50th in London 2012.
