Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko took a cultural journey through Oman’s National Museum on Monday, December 16, 2024, during his official visit to the Sultanate. The tour offered a glimpse into Oman’s rich history and heritage, as highlighted by the museum's impressive exhibits.

According to Oman News Agency (ONA), “President Lukashenko received an in-depth briefing about the museum's diverse halls, each showcasing the Sultanate’s cultural legacy.” The visit underscored the strengthening ties between Belarus and Oman, fostering cultural and diplomatic exchange.

A Royal Dinner to Mark the Visit

On Sunday evening, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik honored President Lukashenko and his delegation with a formal dinner at Al Alam Palace Guesthouse. The event celebrated the growing bond between the two nations.

Ahead of the dinner, the leaders exchanged meaningful gifts symbolizing their countries' traditions. Sultan Haitham presented President Lukashenko with an Omani khanjar (traditional dagger), a symbol of the nation’s pride and heritage. In return, Lukashenko gifted the Sultan a traditional Belarusian rifle and a men’s shawl, reflecting Belarusian craftsmanship and culture.

The dinner was attended by Royal family members, high-ranking officials, and advisors, reflecting the importance of this state visit in strengthening bilateral relations.

President Lukashenko’s engagement with Oman’s history at the National Museum and the warm royal reception highlight the cultural bridge between Belarus and Oman, showcasing mutual respect and shared aspirations for closer cooperation.
