The classification of tropical Tej cyclone dropped from Category 2 to Category 1 tropical cyclone on Monday, Oct. 23. 

Oman Meteorology explained in the statement that the Tej cyclone is weakening and its classification is reduced to category 1, with the possibility of it reducing to a tropical storm within the next 12 hours. 

According to the department, the cyclone's center is 270 kilometers away from Salalah, when previously, the cyclone's center was located 250 kilometers away from the Salalah coast. 

The wind speed around the center of the cyclone is 82-64 knots. 

The Tej cyclone is expected to head in the west-northwest direction, towards Dhofar Governate and Yemen.
