Dubai, UAE, 19 Sept 2022:

Come with me, and you'll see, a world of delicious Depachika. Discover a food hall like no other in the heart of Dubai at Nakheel Mall, The Palm Jumeirah. It’s Dubai’s first version of a depachika, selling everything from deli-style ingredients to snacks, gourmet presents and restaurants.

Whatever the time of day, you can tuck into a world of delicious dishes from all over the globe including fresh from-the-oven Portuguese pastries at Lana Lusa, just like mama makes Bolognese at Casa Della Pasta and spicy miso ramen from Daikan. Little ones will love healthy snacks from Koala Picks, whose nibbles aren’t just delicious, but healthy too.

The word ‘depachika’ is a Japanese term used to describe the enormous space dedicated to basement food halls beneath Tokyo’s grand department stores. Combining the words for department store ‘depāto’ and basement ‘chika’; the depachika in Japan are worlds unto themselves, typically selling thousands of different delicious items.

Most of the outlets at Depachika are home-grown brands, and you’ll no doubt recognize some of the names, including Lime Tree Café, Kilikio by Mythos, Massimo’s Gelato and Moishi Ice Cream. Retailers include Royce Chocolate, The Lighthouse, and Florette Florist, all perfect for gifting to friends and ones you love.

For your Instagram-curated cheeseboard, the vast cheese selection at The Cheese Room does not disappoint, there’s even a vast selection of grapes at neighbouring The Cellar Door. You can shop your favourite cuts at Dubai’s freshest and finest butcher Prime Gourmet and find every gift and goody imaginable from a long list of stunningly presented brands, each with a unique story to tell; Janat Tea, The Truffleers, Orient Delight and Let’s popcorn to name but a few.

There’s even a cooking studio, Mamalu, offering cookery classes, team building, kids’ activities, workshops and more, for when you decide that you want to whip up something tasty at home or learn new skills in the kitchen.

Whether looking for a gift for someone special, popping in for a mid-week lunch, or leisurely exploring the culinary globe, Depachika promises a world of variety and flavour #DeliciousDepachika.
