The UAE's General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) said that a new service that allows applicants to follow up on the status of their residency application throughout the day would be available starting July 7, 2021.

‘You are Special’accepts residency-related requests and inquiries from companies and individuals seven days a week.

“We in the United Arab Emirates in general, and Dubai in particular, seek to be at the forefront and aim to achieve customers’ requirements through services that distinguish Dubai from the rest of the world,” local media quoted Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, director general of the GDRFA as having said at the time of launching the service.

A dedicated team has reportedly been set up to handle the communication requests around the service and to facilitate a unified work channel to handle such requests.
