Dukhan Bank Padel Cup 2022
The Dukhan Bank Padel Cup activities kicked off on Sunday, in cooperation with Padel Inn and the humanitarian partner Qatar Charity.
This event takes place from April 17 to 23, and this tournament consists of 48 teams, each team contains 6 players distributed at the star and rookie levels, with a total of 288 players.
Dukhan Bank and Qatar Charity have a long history and various initiatives in employing sports to serve charitable work, Qatar Charity was chosen to be the humanitarian partner for this important sporting event, especially since the State of Qatar has become a destination for sporting events due to its well-equipped and secure infrastructure, and all fees will be donated Subscriptions to Qatar Charity to contribute to charitable works.
On this occasion, Mr. Ahmed Fakhro, Assistant CEO of the Resources Development and Media Sector at Qatar Charity, thanked those in charge of this initiative.
Fakhro said: We are happy to be the humanitarian sponsor of this tournament, which is being held in the State of Qatar, in our belief in the need to promote sports because of its great impact on society.
Fakhro added, At Qatar Charity, we always work to link sports with charitable work to motivate young people to do good and support peace and social security within Qatar and around the world.
For his part, Talal Ahmed Al-Khaja, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Dukhan Bank, said: “We are honored to officially launch Dukhan Bank’s first Padel Championship in cooperation with Padel In, and in partnership with Qatar Charity.
He added, "This tournament comes in partnership with Qatar Charity to continue providing support in all social activities and harnessing sports activities to support charitable works in the community."
Mr. Khaled Saadoun Al-Kuwari, General Manager of Padel In, said, “We are proud to organize the first Dukhan Bank Cup tournament in the padel sport, the first local competition of its kind at the team level in this sport, This tournament will give the youth the opportunity to participate in a fun activity during the holy month of Ramadan and we look forward to welcoming all the padel fans at the Padel Inn Club in Aspire, as well as at our new center in the City Center Doha complex between April 17-23.
On the other hand, the padel sport has achieved a great spread within the State of Qatar, as stadiums have spread in many regions of the country, and It is a racquet sport and is played on an indoor court smaller than the size of a tennis court.
The State of Qatar officially joined the Padel International Federation during the General Assembly meeting, which was held in the Italian capital, Rome in 2019.
This accession authorized the State of Qatar to host international padel tournaments and also participate in other tournaments under the umbrella of the International Padel Federation.
