Egyptian fencer Nada Hafez made headlines on July 29 by securing her first Olympic victory in the women's sabre event while being seven months pregnant.

The 26-year-old, competing in her third Olympics, triumphed over American world No. 10 Elizabeth Tartakovsky with a close score of 15-13. Although Hafez later lost to South Korea’s Jeon Hayoung 15-7 in the round of 16, her achievement remains remarkable.
