All employment contracts for Saudis and expats should be documented via Qiwa platform according to the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. This comes in line with the Cabinet's resolution on assigning the ministry the responsibility of managing the contractual relationship between the establishment and workers, whether they are Saudis or expatriates, starting from the contract documentation until the end of the contractual relationship, the ministry noted.

Once the contract is documented via the platform, the data is automatically synchronized with the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI).

The ministry said: "The documentation aims to protect the contractual relationship parties, raise the salary payment compliance levels and boost competitiveness to the local labor market."

Starting from May 12, the ministry confirmed that employee work contracts would be approved and documented on the Qiwa platform only, through which it will be the approved platform for documenting and approving work contracts.
