Everything to Know About the Wildfires in California
A fire broke out in Hollywood Hills on Wednesday, Jan. 8, which led to the evacuation of 130,000 individuals and the deaths of five individuals.
Parts of Laurel Canyon Boule and Mulholland Drive to Hollywood Boulevard became mandatory evacuation zones.
Celebrities including Paris Hilton, Billy Crystal, Diane Warren, Ricki Lake, Cary Elwes, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have confirmed the loss of their homes because of the wildfires.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed the announcement of the nominations have been postponed to Sunday, Jan. 19.

Iconic landmarks in the city including Sunset Boulevard, Theatre Palisades, and the grounds of Getty Villa, have been heavily damaged. The Hollywood sign has been at risk of damage after the Sunset fire erupted in Hollywood Hills.
US President Joe Biden cancelled his trip to Rome and the Vatican, while the President-elect blamed California governor Gavin Newsom for the situation, saying it was his fault that some of the city's hydrants had run out of water.
The wind fueling the wildfires is beginning to drop; however, it will take some time to bring the fires under control.
