'Raastha,' the first international movie in the Malayalam language, filmed entirely in Oman, is scheduled to hit theaters on January 5. This film marks a significant milestone in the Malayalam film industry by venturing into the international cinema landscape.
Plot and Setting
The movie portrays an interesting storyline set against the Rub Al Khali desert, depicting the journey of a girl searching for her mother in the Gulf region. Notably, several Omani citizens have also contributed their talent to the movie.
Director and Cast
Directed by Aneesh Anwar, 'Raastha' features a stellar line-up comprising Sarjano Khalid, Anagha Narayanan, Aaradhya Ann, Sudheesh, Irshad Ali, T.G. Ravi, and Anish Anwar. The movie, produced under the ALU Entertainments banner by Linu Sreenivas, is a highly anticipated survival thriller.

Boosting Oman's Film Industry
At a press conference held at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the crew shared their filming experiences and the movie's real-life inspirations. Humaid Al Amri, Chairman of Oman Film Society, voiced optimism that 'Raastha' would elevate Oman's entertainment industry, attracting more filmmakers to the region.
