Five people were rescued by the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) as heavy rains lashed the Sultanate on Monday and Tuesday.
Some parts of Oman witnessed flash floods as the air depression brought heavy rains and thunderstorms across the country.
CDAA issued an online statement, which confirmed that its rescue team in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate saved four individuals as their vehicle got stuck while crossing the overflowing wadi (valley) in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi. According to the statement, all four individuals were safe and in good health.
The CDAA team in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate also rescued a woman whose car was trapped in the middle of the wadi in the Wilayat of Nizwa.
Moderate to heavy rainfall was experienced in the governates of Musandam, Al Buraimi, North and South Al Batinah, Al Dhahirah, and Al Dakhiliyah, which led to the overflowing of many wadis and obstructed traffic on the streets. School lessons and evening classes were also suspended in most of the governates on Tuesday.
