A total of 42 Omani residents have been moderately to critically injured as a result of a dangerous gas leak at a site in Muwailih Industrial City, said the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA).
"The team dealing with hazardous materials accidents in North Al Batinah Governorate responded to a report of chlorine gas leakage from a cylinder in Muwailih Industrial City. The team succeeded in containing the leakage," the CDAA stated.

The authority calls for the importance of following safety procedures in aspects related to hazardous materials used by certain government and private agencies in order to avoid such occurrences.
