  • Publish date: Thursday، 22 December 2022

GCC August 25th, 2022
On August 25th, Great Place to Work® - a global research, training and consultancy firm that recognizes the Best Workplaces™ in over 60 countries worldwide - has revealed the list of ‘Best Workplaces™ in the Middle East for the year 2022’. This list recognized 10 Large, 20 Medium and 20 Small organizations across the GCC for their efforts.

Organizations this year also built upon a sense of belonging. When everything seemed to be susceptible to the pandemic, employees were made to feel comfortable with choices they make. The stability that was granted to them throughout the year provided them with the chance to get inspired and grow mentally and physically while seeking to uphold the success of their work/life balance.

To boost employee morale, organizations made sure to provide their staff with learning opportunities to grow, as well as fun and engaging programs. A package that would not be complete without a simple ‘thank you’ note. Continuous appreciation and recognition to employees when they least expect, offers them the mechanism to reach their full potential and showcase the best of their attributes.

Commenting on this year’s Best Workplaces™ in the GCC list, Ibrahim Mougharbel, Managing Director for the UAE, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait, Great Place to Work® Middle East, said: “Despite the challenges we have faced during the pandemic, we are proud to witness even more continuous growth in employee culture awareness among leaders in the UAE and the Middle East in general. Our Best Workplaces™ for this year have persevered through the time of unprecedented upheaval and have continued to persevere post-pandemic and we are here to celebrate them. We are therefore not celebrating companies; we are celebrating heroes.”

Commenting on this year’s Best Workplaces™ in the KSA list, Tanzeel Rehman, Managing Director for the KSA and Bahrain, Great Place to Work® Middle East, said: “As a part of their organizational strategy, great workplaces throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia compete across different sectors in providing great workplace environments for ALL employees to ensure winning the war of local talent.

The following 50 companies for being the best workplaces while not only focusing on being the best for customers, but on being the best for their employees:

The UAE operation serves as the regional headquarters for the Middle East, with consultants and sales staff appointed in each market.

About the ‘Best Workplaces™ Lists

Any company based in the Middle East, falls within the industries belonging to the lists and employs 10 or more employees is eligible to participate.  Any company that appears on the list is selected primarily based on their employees' responses to the Great Place to Work Trust Index©, a proprietary employee survey developed by Great Place to Work®.  In addition, the Great Place to Work® Middle East evaluates materials submitted by the company, including the company's response to the Great Place to Work® Culture Audit© with accompanying materials submitted by the company for consideration. Organizations can apply from now and until the beginning of the following year for the 2023 Best Workplaces™ list.

Great Place to Work® Middle East conducts a rigorous audit of every participating company before it can be listed as one of the Best Workplaces™ in the region. This year, the Best Workplaces™ spanned across multiple industries that include retail, social services and government agencies, transportation, finance and media. The organizations were surveyed on fundamental issues that consider how trustworthy and caring an organization is for their employees.

To obtain Best Workplace™ ranking, the companies are scored. A large portion of a company’s score is based on the confidential feedback of their employees while the remaining score is attained from an audit of management and HR practices- a reflection of the company’s solutions to specific criteria. Within this framework, organizations were asked about their values, trust process, leadership methods, innovation processes and how they maximize their employees’ potential. The heroes that are continuously building a greater environment for their employees have stood out, and we are always here to celebrate them.
