Hamdan Ballal Released by Israeli Forces
The Palestinian co-director of the Oscar-winner 'No Other Land', Hamdan Ballal, was released by Israeli forces on Tuesday, Mar. 25.
Ballal was attacked by a group of armed Israeli settlers on Monday evening in Susiya, however, he and two other Palestinians were detained.
After the attack, the director sustained injuries to his head and stomach and was being treated for his injuries in an ambulance before he was taken away by the Israeli forces.
The three individuals were released on Tuesday afternoon from police custody and they had not been charged with any crimes.
According to the co-director, Israeli journalist Yuval Abraham, Ballal was beaten by two soldiers throughout his detention, during which he remained handcuffed.
After their release, Ballal and the other two detainees were taken to a nearby hospital in Al Khalil.
