The Sultanate of Oman declared the suspension of the conversion process from tourist and visit visas to work visas for all nationalities visiting Oman.

This decision was announced by the Royal Oman Police as part of their visa policy review. They made this announcement through a social media platform, X (previously known as Twitter).

Previously, expatriates arriving in the nation on visit visas had the option to switch to an employment visa. However, the recent announcement entails that these individuals will now be required to leave the country and re-enter on a work visa.

Furthermore, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has also declared the suspension of visa issuance for Bangladeshi nationals from October 31st onwards.

In a regional context, neighboring countries have been increasingly collaborating on visa-related efforts. Earlier this year, Saudi Arabia and Oman revealed plans to introduce a joint tourist visa as part of their collective initiatives to promote tourism.

The collaborative endeavors of Saudi Arabia and Oman are primarily aimed at attracting foreign tourists, citizens from both nations and residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
