The CAA has issued a thunder rain alert, to be in effect from 11:30 am to 9 pm on Saturday, May 27th.
According to the CAA's predictions, mountainous areas over the governorates of South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah, Al Dakhiliyah and South Al Batinah, as well as parts of Muscat, and coastal areas of Oman Sea will be affected by heavy rainfall ranging between 15-30mm.
Citizens and residents can expect strong downdraft winds (35-65 knots), with the possibility of poor horizontal visibility due to dust rising during the rainfall.
Heavy rainfall may also lead to flash wadis.
