Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) announced that it was able to facilitate a trading volume of more than 1.2 million metric tons, worth $12.4 billion (AED 45.5 billion) out of Dubai's total trade volume registered during 2021 in the automotive and transportation sector.
Jafza has contributed significantly to driving the growth of the automotive industry in the UAE, thanks to its unique logistical infrastructure and global trade network, which has achieved a strong and consistent performance in the automotive sector increasingly, by connecting dealers in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East with consumers all over the world.
Jafza includes companies from more than 70 countries and employs about 8000 employees. Jafza has attracted global automotive giants such as Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, and Volvo.
Jafza has a multi-modal system to connect merchants through Al Maktoum International Airport, which connects them to more than 260 airports around the world, in addition to its location adjacent to Jebel Ali Port, which is linked to more than 150 ports through many shipping lines.
In addition, the smart business solutions and the various benefits that Jafza provides, such as exemption from value-added tax and corporate tax, help companies raise the efficiency of their operations as international distribution centers.
