We’ve all experienced burnout from work, whether it's mentally or physically. Sometimes all we need to do is take a few days off, here are a few ways in order to fill ourselves with life again.

Book a spa appointment

Spas are known to be one of the most relaxing places you can go to, whether it's the relaxing aroma of lavender, a 24k gold facial mask, or the masseuse massaging the tension out of your muscles. Spas can easily make a person feel better, it's a form of self-care for both your physical body and your mental state.

Do Something That You Miss Doing

We all crave things that remind us of our childhood such as riding a bike in a creek park, coloring books, or even watching our favorite cartoon. Take this opportunity to go back to one of the activities that were significant to your childhood, often we miss our carefree lives as children, and reliving those memories lifts away stress and pain, we didn't know we were carrying.

Exercise

Working out has proved to reduce stress hormones. Whilst working out your body starts producing endorphins that work as mood elevators. Moving your body also reduces the tension in your muscles that’s making you feel groggy and tired, try hitting the gym or going on a run on sunset beach in Jumeirah.

Take a Break From Social Media

Social media has the benefits of allowing us to communicate with friends and family abroad. However, it has its negative effects on us too. Watching others' “perfect” lives from afar often makes us insecure about our own. Living in a digital world instead of the physical one can induce feelings of anxiety and depression. Try taking a social media break to focus on yourself, which can help reduce stress and other factors burning you out.

Write Down What's On Your Mind

Having many troubling thoughts or concerns can often cloud our brains.  We would forget about them while still carrying the stress and anxiety that they caused. Writing them down and dealing with the thoughts or problems one by one allows you to differentiate how each problem makes you feel. Also, separating them can help you understand how to deal with each of them individually instead of trying to deal with all of them at once.

Declutter Your Room

They say a person's room is the window to their soul, when we spend time in a dirty or messy place it often has a negative effect on us without us realizing it. Cleaning and tidying up our room can improve our daily mood and reduce stress, having objects thrown around your room or house causes eyesores which induces negative feelings in your body.

Meditate Daily

We often forget to stop and just breathe.  Meditating every day even if it is only for 5 minutes can really do wonders for your soul. Try basking in the sun and take deep breaths, disconnect from the world, and let yourself breathe in the fresh air.
