The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), in partnership with Huawei, has introduced a new program to train 100 young Omanis in artificial intelligence (AI). The initiative includes sessions held in China, aiming to boost skills in the communications sector and support job seekers and small business owners.
Program Details and Objectives
Omar Hamdan al Ismaili, CEO of TRA, hosted the launch event for the program. It is designed to enhance competencies in AI, invest in advanced technologies, and improve human resource capabilities within Oman.
Training Phases and Locations
The training will be divided into five phases, with 20 participants in each group. Each phase spans three weeks: two weeks of training at TRA’s headquarters in Oman and one week at Huawei’s headquarters in China. This structure provides hands-on experience and exposure to global industry practices.
