In a noble gesture, the family of a deceased individual from Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, chose to donate organs, granting a new chance at life to a patient from Oman.
"Arrangements were promptly made for Rajesh's (name changed) organs to be donated," stated an official release from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. "His heart and liver were deemed suitable for donation."
Thanks to the swift coordination of Delhi Traffic Police, a Green corridor was facilitated from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital to the Indira Gandhi International Airport. This enabled the timely transport of Rajesh's heart to MGM Hospital in Chennai, where a patient from Oman awaited the life-saving transplant eagerly.
The hospital commended the "remarkable speed" of the traffic police, highlighting how this act not only saved a life but also fostered a profound connection between the families in Oman and Rajesh's family in India.
Dr. AK Bhalla, Chairman of the Department of Nephrology at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, emphasized the significance of organ donation, stating, "Please do not take your organs to heaven, we need them here!"
