After Israel and UAE announced to normalize ties back in August, Israel's national airline El Al’s made a first symbolic flight between Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi on August 31.

As mentioned by the Israeli Transport Ministry on October 18, a framework for 28 direct flights a week between the countries have been signed. Currently, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft will fly on a three-and-a-half-hour journey from Israel to the UAE. In addition, Etihad also becomes the first non-Israeli airline in the Middle East to launch a dedicated website for the Israeli market in Hebrew.

Mohamed Mubarak Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Etihad Aviation Group said “We are just starting to explore the long-term potential of these newly-forged relationships, which will be sure to greatly benefit the economies of both nations, particularly in the areas of trade and tourism, and ultimately the people who call this diverse and wonderful region home.”

The first historic flight arrived in Abu Dhabi from Israel on Monday, October 19 with an Israeli travel and tourism delegation on board, according to an Etihad statement.

Putting an end to the UAE boycott against Israel will definitely be beneficial for the economies, business, banking and intergovernmental agreements. Israel and the UAE have also agreed to reciprocal visa-free travel, making Emirati citizens the first in the Arab world to not require Israeli entry visas.

All health and safety precautionary measures must be adhered to as usual.
