Katara Publishing House Release 3rd Issue of Culture
Culture, a quarterly magazine published by the Katara Publishing House, has released its third issue.
The third issue, like the previous two, provides a wealth of information on a wide range of cultural events and trends in Qatar, as well as interviews with well-known figures who have had an impact on the cultural and social field.
Due to its rich and diverse topics compiled by a professional editorial team, the magazine has become quite popular in a short period of time. It is freely distributed across the country and abroad by diplomatic missions, as well as to important institutions and offices from all sectors.
Katara Publishing House, which is part of the Cultural Village Foundation, created Culture as a forum to highlight Qatar's cultural diversity and to serve as an interactive platform between various stakeholders and readers to promote the cultural sector and to inform local and international readers about the latest trends and activities in the sector.
“As the leading cultural institution in Qatar, we thought it is our duty to bring out a publication that will give voice to the people and institutions in the cultural sector. Like in so many other areas, Qatar is leading in culture, too, with several major events we are organizing attracting regional and global interest and participation,” said Dr. Prof. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara.
The cover story of the magazine's most recent 400-page edition is about falconry, with a specific focus on the Souq Waqif Falcon Hospital, which has cutting-edge falcon care facilities.
It also includes features on the abaya, the gahwa (Arabic coffee tradition), the batoola (traditional face covering worn by Qatari women), Qatari souvenirs, and interviews with notable art, media, literary, and film figures such as Virgil Abloh, Khalid Jassem, Dr. Ahmad Abdul Malik, Khalifa Al Marri, and Anas Abu Qamar, among others.
"The first two issues were warmly received, and we are pleased with the positive feedback. We've started this publication at a time when the world's attention is focused on Qatar for a variety of reasons. We believe that culture is a crucial part of a country's global outreach, and Qatar recognizes the relevance and power of culture in projecting a favorable image and influencing a wider community. Culture's Editor-in-Chief, Khalid Al Sayed, remarked, "This magazine aspires to bring value to these efforts and broadens our engagement with the globe."
"As the first magazine of its kind in Qatar, Culture is filling a long-existing need," stated Shaikha Hamad Ahmad Al Thani, the magazine's Executive Editor.
"As the first magazine of its kind in Qatar, Culture is filling a long-existing need," stated Shaikh Hamad Ahmad Al Thani, the magazine's Executive Editor. One of the main reasons for its popularity is that it has provided a platform for actors in this sector to speak with a bigger audience and so get attention, while readers get rare glimpses into the country's dynamic cultural scene."
Future issues of the magazine will maintain the journal's heritage of providing readers with high-quality content. Katara Publishing House is the place to go if you want a copy of the magazine.
