Kuwaiti citizens who have not been vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus will be banned from travelling abroad from May 22.

The ban exempts people and children who are not eligible to receive the vaccinations.

A previous directive preventing the entry of non-Kuwaitis into the Gulf state remains in place.

Additionally, Kuwait’s health ministry confirmed that it would delay appointments for the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to upto six weeks after the first dose, whereas for those above 60 and with underlying conditions, the timeframe between both doses would be three weeks.

Kuwait has registered more than 276,500 cases in total.
