Microsoft Expands Investment in Qatar with New State-of-the-Art Office
As part of a substantial investment in Qatar that also includes the soon-to-be-launched Microsoft Cloud Datacenter Region, Microsoft has expanded its business in Qatar with the official opening Lusail City facility, the company's fourth and largest in the nation.
Launching the new offices will help Microsoft better serve its customers, work with its technology partners, and attract and nurture outstanding talent. It will also underline Microsoft's commitment to making Qatar a knowledge and innovation powerhouse.
The official opening of Microsoft's new cutting-edge office in Burj Al Fardan, Lusail City, was celebrated with the presence of Mohammed bin Ali Al-Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and high-ranking representatives from the U.S. Embassy in Qatar.
The company's employees throughout the larger Middle East and Africa region were able to watch the inauguration ceremony live on Microsoft Teams.
Microsoft has a long history in Qatar, and Lana Khalaf, general manager of Microsoft Qatar, remarked that the company's dedication to fostering Qatar's innovation sector has never been stronger.
Customers and partners will have the chance to co-innovate, ideate, and imagine ground-breaking solutions that will revolutionize their industries with the opening of our new headquarters and Customer Innovation Center.
Fostering innovation at the core of Qatar's ecosystem for the future
The striking space blends Microsoft's global corporate identity with local Qatari flavor to capture the forward-thinking, agile, and resilient nature of Qatar. One side of the office overlooks the Arabian Sea, while the other faces the desert.
The new Microsoft site has a Customer Innovation Center that will conduct workshops on innovation and ideation in an effort to spark ground-breaking solutions that catalyze change in Qatar's many industries.
As an innovation hub for top technology startups, students, and community organizations from all around Qatar, the office will be extremely important.
The new workplace was created with the development of work in mind, offering an inclusive hybrid environment that enables staff to work with partners whether they are nearby or far away to provide better customer service.
The eco-friendly, intelligent space makes use of the business's most cutting-edge future-of-work technologies to enable seamless hybrid work that gives employees the freedom to divide their time between the office and off-site locations. This results in higher productivity, greater employee satisfaction, and improved team collaboration.
The workplace is outfitted with the most recent Microsoft Teams-enabled hardware and software to enable seamless hybrid work, and it features a Team-Based Space design that combines cutting-edge technology with contemporary and collaborative workspaces.
"We followed two key concepts when creating the new office. The first was our commitment to giving our employees the greatest workplace possible, one that is highly engaging, inclusive, and dynamic and that makes use of the most recent work technologies to build smart workplaces that are future-proof. The second goal was sustainability, which involved opening the first office in the Middle East to receive certification under the strictest sustainability guidelines. With our Customer Innovation Center, we prioritized the focus on customers, and I'm incredibly glad to announce that we achieved both of those goals," adds Khalaf.
I am confident that this expansion will encourage further hiring and retention of the best talent who will be inspired to develop cutting-edge solutions for organizations and people in the country. I am excited to welcome customers, partners, visitors, and Microsoft team members to our new office.
Microsoft made bold goals in 2020 to become carbon negative by 2030 and to remove more carbon from the atmosphere by 2050 than it has produced since its beginnings.
This new building is equipped with the most advanced green technologies to promote energy and water efficiency, and it is the first office of the corporation in the Middle East to achieve Level 1 on Microsoft's Global Sustainability Standard.
Additionally, the building has earned a C-Grade Global Microsoft Accessibility Standard for providing equitable access to workspaces for all employees, thanks to amenities like Braille-written room signage, automatic doors, and conveniently accessible parking spaces.
