Oman's Ministry of Labour (MoL) conducted an inspection campaign in the Wilayat of Seeb, Muscat Governorate where it arrested more than 50 expats for violating the labor law.
The violators were accused of practicing "unlicensed work and acts contrary to public morals."
"The Ministry of Labour, represented by the General Directorate of Labour Welfare, in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police, carried out an inspection campaign in the Wilayat of Seeb on private homes in which unlicensed work and acts contrary to public morals are practiced. 55 workers were arrested in violation of the provisions of the Labour Law," the ministry said in a statement.
Legal measures are being taken against the violators, the ministry added.
