Muscat International Airport gears up for a tech-forward leap with the installation of new E-Gates set to go operational this week. These gates, equipped with facial recognition technology, mark a significant step in airport innovation, as confirmed by Sheikh Aimen al Hosni, CEO of Oman Airports.
Advanced Features and Conference Insights
Citizens and residents can use these new E-Gates without displaying their passports, streamlining the departure and arrival process. Meanwhile, visitors to the Sultanate will continue through the regular immigration procedure. Al Hosni shared these updates at the Airport Innovate conference, a two-day event discussing cutting-edge trends and technological advancements in the airport sector.
