The Child Protection committee in Muscat is working to provide psychological support and counseling to children who were injured in a game collapse at the Muscat Nights activities on Tuesday night.

Seven children and a woman were injured in the incident at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, local media reported, with injuries ranging from "medium to light," according to a statement from Oman's Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority.

The statement affirmed there were no serious injuries among the children.

The committee will also provide counseling to the injured children's families, with the aim of mitigating the psychological effects of the accident.

The committee also called for providing psychological support to the children present who witnessed the incident, by communicating with specialists via the child protection line 1100.

Muscat Municipality said the incident was due to a technical malfunction in the ride.
