Despite the announcement for online learning, some schools were allowed to re-open their face-to-face classes Today on Monday 2nd of January 2022, for the start of the new term as well as the beginning of the new work-school week, which is four and half days a week, however, there were new testing rules for people who are returning to the campus:

New Testing Rules For Schools In UAE 2022

  • Pupils and teachers will be required to show a PCR negative test before going back to their school.
  • Those coming from an overseas trip should book fit to fly PCR tests.

New Covid-19 testing rules for schools in Dubai 2022

All private schools in Dubai will go back to in-person classes on Monday - 3rd of January 2022. However, all school canteens will remain shut for the first two weeks, school gatherings, and no school trips. 

If a student shows symptoms like Covid-19, the school must give the student the option of online learning, and they can return to school after the symptoms disappear and no PCR test is required.

New Covid-19 testing rules for schools in Abu Dhabi 2022

Abu Dhabis' public and private schools will go back to online learning during the first two weeks of the 2nd term from the 3rd of January. However, during those two weeks, many testing campaigns will go for the staff to monitor the situation in real-time. This decision was made as a precautionary measure to limit the spread of Covid-19 as much as possible and to ensure the lowest infection rates in the Emirates.

If a school is 85% vaccinated in Abu-Dhabi, then students are allowed to take off their masks in that school.

New Covid-19 testing rules for schools in Sharjah 2022

Early this week, the Sharjah private education authority announced that the pupils in this Emirate would go back to in-person classes on Monday, however, anyone over 12 years old will be required to present valid negative PCR test results, tested within the last 96 hours.

All other activities are suspended until further notice.

All parents entering must have a green pass on the Al Hosn app for any school in any Emirate.

What about the face masks?

All students above the age of 6 and adults such as the staff have to wear masks properly according to the guidelines and protocols, the only time the masks can be removed is when the person is eating.
