Oman Air, the flag carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has been celebrated for its exceptional hospitality in the skies. Recently, the airline earned the distinction of being ranked second in the world for its in-flight food, according to a study by MoneySuperMarket’s travel insurance team.

The study analyzed over 27,000 passenger reviews of meals across more than 100 airlines. Kuwait Airways claimed the top spot with an impressive score of 8.58 out of 10, offering multi-course meals in economy and gourmet options like lobster and beef in their 'Royal Class' service.
Oman Air followed closely with a score of 8.44, while Middle Eastern Airlines secured third place with a score of 8.39. Air Algerie and Air BALTIC rounded out the top five.
Oman Air has been praised for its diverse and delicious menu, catering to various dietary needs. This achievement highlights the airline's commitment to enhancing the in-flight dining experience for passengers.
Middle Eastern airlines dominated the rankings, with Qatar Airways, Emirates, Etihad, and Gulf Air also receiving high scores. The survey also identified airlines with the most reviews, including Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and British Airways. Among these, Turkish Airlines received the highest score of 7.8.
In the realm of luxury travel, first and business class offerings stand out, with Swiss International Air Lines leading the first-class dining experience with a score of 9 out of 10. Other high-scoring airlines for first-class meals included Qantas, Lufthansa, China Airlines, Etihad Airways, and All Nippon Airways (ANA).
For economy class, Air Algerie topped the rankings with a score of 7.9, followed by Tarom, Turkish Airlines, Aegean Airlines, Emirates, and Etihad.
Oman Air’s recognition as the second-best globally for in-flight food is a testament to its dedication to providing an outstanding travel experience. The airline continues to set high standards in the industry, ensuring every journey is a culinary delight.
