Oman’s Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) has introduced new electricity tariffs that will take effect on January 1, 2025. The updated pricing structure, approved by Salem bin Nasser bin Saeed Al Aufi, Chairman of APSR’s Board of Directors, seeks to align electricity costs with the public's best interests.
Who Will Be Affected?
The revised rates will apply to multiple sectors, including residential, non-residential, agricultural, and fisheries. However, the tariffs exclude costs related to meters, connection accessories, service cables, and installation labor.
Focus on Sustainability and Transparency
APSR stated that the changes are designed to improve sustainability and efficiency in the electricity sector. The new pricing structure aims to create a fair and transparent system for all consumer categories.

- The load tariff will follow regulations outlined in the licensee’s electricity connection guidelines approved by APSR.
