Oman's Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA) has announced that the Prophet's birthday, which is considered an official holiday in the Sultanate, will fall on Thursday, September 28th.

MERA announced that the sighting of the crescent of the month of Rabi' al-Awwal has not been confirmed, and therefore Sunday, September 17th, will be the first day of tRabi’ Al Awwal 1445 AH.

Muslims celebrate the Prophet Muhammad's birthday on the 12th day of the third month, Rabi' al-Awwal.

Mawlid al-Nabi is an Islamic holiday that celebrates the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, and it is observed in many Muslim countries.

Different Muslim countries celebrate the Prophet's birthday as a significant Islamic holiday. However, some Muslim countries do not because they follow a strict interpretation of Islam, where Mawlid celebrations are considered innovative and a step out of early Islamic practices.
