This step comes in cooperation with the General Traffic Department of the Royal Oman Police, the ministry added.
The traffic lane, in the direction of Muscat, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. for two weeks, as part of the ministry’s road rehabilitation project.
The ministry urged road users to heed caution.
The government has been working to repair 20 roads damaged by climatic conditions in all governorates, in order to provide a safe road network for motorists, and to ensure the sustainability of roads.
In February, the ministry reopened the Wadi al Hawasnah road, marking the 15th road reopened, while the remaining five roads are set to be inaugurated this month.
