The Sultanate of Oman has expressed strong support for the joint statement issued by Qatar’s Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and US President Joe Biden. The statement emphasized the need to finalize the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and ensure the release of prisoners and hostages, while also urging the resumption of peace talks on August 15, either in Doha or Cairo.
Oman’s Call for Swift Action
In an official statement released, Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the country's commitment to the principles outlined in the joint statement. Oman stressed the importance of promptly adhering to the agreed terms and implementing them without any delays. The Ministry urged all involved parties to return to the negotiation table immediately, emphasizing the need for urgent talks to achieve lasting peace and reduce the ongoing suffering of the Palestinian people.
