Oman Begins Major Repair Works on Al Batinah Highway

Oman's Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) has begun a project to rehabilitate the Al Batinah highway from South Al Batinah to North Al Batinah.
The rehabilitation project will take place in separate locations, starting from the Wilayat of Barka to Khatmat Milaha in the Wilayat of Shinas.
A replacement of asphalt layers with a total length of 73 km along the Al Batinah Highway, repairing damaged iron barriers, installing and replacing guiding regulations, and ground paint works are included in the project.
The Omani government has been working to repair 20 roads damaged by climatic conditions in all governorates, in order to provide a safe road network for motorists, and to ensure the sustainability of roads.
On Wednesday, April 5th, the Tender Board awarded an asphalt pavement maintenance project in the Al Batinah South Governorate for a period of five years, at a value of RO 8,157,955.
