Oman Braces for Weather Trough with Strong Winds & Rain
Expect cooler temperatures, high waves, and scattered showers across the country


The Sultanate of Oman is gearing up for a weather trough starting Tuesday, February 25, 2025, with strong winds, scattered rainfall, and rough seas expected to last for several days.
According to Oman Meteorology, numerical models indicate that a depression system will develop, leading to cloud formation and scattered rain over Musandam Governorate, the Al Hajar Mountains, and parts of the Sea of Oman’s coastline.

Brace for north to northwesterly winds sweeping across most governorates, bringing:
✅ Dust & sandstorms in open areas
✅ A significant drop in temperatures
✅ Choppy sea conditions with towering waves
From Tuesday, the western coast of Musandam Governorate is expected to see wave heights reaching 2.5 to 3.0 meters, while the rest of Oman’s coastline will experience moderate waves between 1.5 to 2.0 meters.
