The Sultanate of Oman has strongly condemned an Israeli airstrike on Iran, denouncing the action as a "flagrant violation" of the country's sovereignty and a breach of international law.

In a statement released by the Foreign Ministry, Oman expressed deep concern over the escalation and its potential to fuel further instability in the region.

The Foreign Ministry warned that such aggressive actions could derail efforts to de-escalate tensions and resolve ongoing conflicts through diplomatic channels. "These practices by Israel pose a serious threat, potentially dragging the region towards more chaos and unrest," the statement said.

Oman urged the global community to take immediate steps to curb what it described as "blatant violations" by Israel, emphasizing the need to protect peace and security across the Middle East. The Sultanate called for a renewed focus on addressing the root causes of regional turmoil, including the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Reiterating its longstanding support for a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders, Oman emphasized the importance of Palestinian self-determination and the establishment of an independent state, as stipulated by UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. The call for peace echoed the need for an end to Israel's occupation of Palestinian and other Arab territories.

As tensions in the region continue to simmer, Oman's strong response serves as a reminder of the urgent need for diplomacy and dialogue to prevent further escalation.
