More Than 35 Expats Arrested for Labor Law Violations in Oman

Oman has deported more than 180 expatriates for violating the Labor Law during the time period between Jun. 18 till Jun. 24.

The Directorate General of Labour Welfare, under the Ministry of Labor, conducted investigations in the Governate of Muscat to ensure that expat workers were conforming to the directives of the Labor Law. 

The campaign was conducted from Jun. 18 until Jun. 24. 

The inspection team ended up arresting 152 workers who were in violation of the directives of the Labour Law. This arrest included 89 workers who ended up leaving their jobs. 

The necessary legal procedures are being carried out against them.

According to the Ministry of Labor, 184 workers were deported from Oman during this time period.
