As Oman prepares for the 54th National Day celebrations, authorities have rolled out new rules for decorating vehicles with stickers. These decorations, which often feature national symbols and portraits of His Majesty the Sultan, are a beloved part of the celebrations. However, the Royal Oman Police, Ministry of Transport, and Traffic Police are emphasizing safety and respect during this festive period.
Key Restrictions for Sticker Placement
The new regulations focus on ensuring that vehicle decorations are both safe and appropriate for the occasion. Key rules include:
- Stickers must be applied neatly and properly.
- The use of rubber bands or placing stickers on the vehicle’s hood is strictly prohibited.
- Only approved materials may be used, and no stickers should alter the vehicle’s color or shape.
- Stickers are banned on front and side windows, as well as on number plates, to avoid safety hazards.
- Only images or phrases that do not obstruct the view through the rear window are allowed.
- All decorations must align with the spirit of National Day, maintaining a respectful tone.
Grace Period for Sticker Application
To allow plenty of time for celebrations, a grace period has been given for sticker placement, running from November 6 to November 30, 2024. The public is encouraged to follow these guidelines to ensure that the National Day celebrations remain safe, respectful, and enjoyable for all.
