The 'Urban October – Gulf Housing Week' conference has commenced at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, and H H Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs, presided over the event. The conference is primarily centered around urban planning and housing developments.

Themed 'Building Better Cities, Enhancing Lives,' the conference spotlights the role of urban planning in social and economic betterment. It covers housing, urban planning, future school buildings, and city resilience, featuring over 65 research papers and contributions from 60 international specialists.

Topics include sustainable urban growth and trends in Gulf city development, emphasizing sustainability and social considerations. An exhibition, an educational buildings symposium, and the 'Gulf Urban Hackathon' are part of the event, expected to draw over 50,000 attendees from local, regional, and international backgrounds.
