Oman Intensifies Preparations for Tropical Storm Tej

Oman's Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) confirmed its readiness to deal with tropical storm Tej, which is expected to affect the coasts of Dhofar and Al Wusta governorates in the upcoming days according to Oman Meteorology.
The CDAA has put its departments in the Dhofar and Al Wusta governorates on alert to respond to the effects that may result from the storm. The departments have been reinforced with manpower and vehicles designated for search and rescue operations.
Dhofar Municipality said: "An emergency committee to discuss preparations and developments related to the tropical situation is active, and will follow up on actions taken by work teams and implement the work plan by providing public services and removing obstacles to facilitate the flow of water in valleys, as well as providing equipment, devices, and water drainage pumps."
Mohammed bin Hamoud Al Mahmoudi, Assistant Director General of Operations and Training at the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority, urged the need for citizens and residents to adhere to the instructions issued by the concerned authorities in order to preserve the safety of their lives and property.
He appealed to everyone to be careful, not to take risks, to stay away from low places and slopes, to avoid circulating rumours, and to listen to warnings and bulletins issued by official authorities.
