The celebrations of the 53rd Oman National Day have been restricted to a military parade under the high patronage of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik and raising flags in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.
In light of the situation in Gaza, various events were suspended in October such as the Royal Opera House Muscat's Omani Women's Day concert and the Omani Nights event.
The opera house suspended all its upcoming events to show solidarity with Palestinians.
People in Muscat even went out to protest on Oct. 19 in support of Palestinians.
The representative of Oman at the UN also called for an end to the Gaza seige at a meeting in the UN Headquarters in October.
The Sultanate recently revealed the logo for the 53rd National Day in anticipation of the event, however no other important announcements about the National Day were made until now.
This announcement to mute National Day festivities emphasizes Oman's unwavering dedication and support to the Palestinian people in Gaza.
