Oman suspended the issuance of visas across all categories for Bangladeshi nationals from Tuesday, Oct. 31 until further notice, according to the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

The Bangladeshi nationals will not face any difficulties in renewing existing visas and their residency status.
However, the ROP affirmed the suspension of visa conversions for expatriates arriving in Oman on tourist and visit visas.

Previously, expats could convert visit visas to residency visas, however, expats will now have to exit the country and then return on a residency visa.
The residency visa application should have an exit stamp attached to it if the applicant wishes to return to the Sultanate for a work visa.
This new regulation is applicable to all nationalities, regardless of their professional status.
